Scranton, PA Realtor Who Treats You Like Family
Hi, I'm Jillian Kemmerer: Mommy. Realtor. Investor. As Associate Broker & Owner based just up the road in Olyphant, I help people buy, sell, and invest in homes all over Scranton. I believe Real Estate is so much more than Real Estate. It's about using your home to make your whole life better.
Why Scranton?
The Electric City is the heart of Lackawanna County. It has a downtown with jobs, restaurants, and the University of Scranton, plus historic neighborhoods with real character. From first homes to multi-family investments, Scranton offers a range of options that's hard to find anywhere else in Northeastern PA.
Scranton Neighborhoods to Know
• Hill Section (18510): Historic Victorian and craftsman homes on higher ground near downtown and the University of Scranton. Walkable and full of character.
• Green Ridge (18509): Sits on the city's northeast side, overlooking downtown and just east of the Lackawanna River. Known for historic, one-of-a-kind homes, with easy access to shopping, dining, and parks.
• West Scranton, South Side, North Scranton, and more: Each part of the city has its own feel, price point, and housing mix. I'll help you compare them honestly.
Scranton's median sale price is currently about $200,000. Homes have sold in a median of 16 days on market (Jan–Sep 2026, Greater Scranton MLS). Because values vary a lot from block to block, I'll pull current comps for the streets you're interested in.
Scranton School District
Most city addresses are served by the Scranton School District. The district includes elementary schools such as Robert Morris, John Adams, William Prescot, Whittier, Isaac Tripp, Neil Armstrong, Kennedy, McNichols Plaza, Frances Willard, and Sumner, plus intermediate schools like Northeast Scranton and South Scranton, and Scranton High School and West Scranton High School. Private options nearby include Scranton Prep and St. Paul/St. Clare. School assignment depends on the exact address, so always check the district's boundary map before you make an offer.
Lifestyle & Commute
Many Scranton neighborhoods are walkable, especially the Hill Section and Green Ridge. You can get to downtown jobs, Lackawanna County offices, hospitals, and colleges in minutes. I-81 and I-476 make regional commuting easy, the Abingtons and Clarks Summit are only about 5–7 miles north, and COLTS buses serve the city.
Buying or Investing in Scranton
Scranton is a great market for first-time buyers and investors alike. Whether you want a single-family home, a duplex to "house hack," or a rental portfolio, I bring an investor's eye to every deal. I'll help you think through rents, repairs, and long-term value. I also have experience with creative financing, like seller financing and subject-to, when a traditional loan isn't the best fit.
Selling Your Scranton Home
I'll give you a realistic, data-driven price, help you prep and present your home, and market it to the buyers most likely to love it. Whether that's a young family, a university employee, or an investor, I'll be with you from list to close.
